This Privacy Policy explains how the Caffeine tracking app (“the App”) collects, uses, and shares information.
The App is for informational purposes only and is not medical advice.
Summary
- You can use the App in Guest mode. Guest data is stored on your device.
- If you create an account and sign in, your data is stored in our backend (Supabase) to sync across devices.
- You can export your data from the App.
- You can delete your account (and associated server data) from inside the App.
Information we collect
Guest mode (no account): we store the following on your device:
- Caffeine logs (drink name/type, caffeine amount, servings, time consumed)
- Custom drinks you create
- Pins/favorites
- App settings (e.g., your soft limit)
Signed-in mode (account): we store the following on our servers to sync across devices:
- Account info needed for sign-in (e.g., email address)
- Caffeine logs
- Custom drinks
- Pins/favorites
- App settings (e.g., soft limit)
How we use information
- To provide core app functionality (tracking, history, syncing when signed in)
- To export your data on request (in-app export feature)
- To maintain security and prevent abuse
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only with service providers needed to run the App, such as:
- Supabase (authentication and database hosting for signed-in users)
If you later add analytics, crash reporting, or subscriptions (e.g., RevenueCat), you must update this policy to list them.
Data retention
- Guest mode: data remains on your device until you delete it (e.g., uninstall, clear app data, or delete entries).
- Signed-in mode: data remains until you delete it in the App or delete your account.
Account deletion
Signed-in users can request account deletion from within the App.
Deleting your account permanently deletes your account and associated server-stored data, subject to technical and legal requirements.
Your choices
- Use the App in Guest mode (no account)
- Export your data from within the App
- Edit or delete logs and custom drinks
- Delete your account (signed-in users)
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Children
The App is not directed to children. Do not use the App if you are under the age required to consent to data processing in your country.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will update the “Last updated” date above.
